Lincoln Plastics was established in 1959, and was originally formed to produce a fairly narrow product range within the paint application market. The business grew until the point that they were the largest supplier of plastic paint brush handles in Australia.
Then, about 15 years ago, the Directors at Lincoln Plastics realised the industry they were primarily set up to service was disappearing rapidly, primarily as a result of overseas imports.
So they changed direction, and haven’t looked back since. Now, with many moulding machines of varying sizes and a highly experienced team, Lincoln Plastics manufacture a huge variety of injection moulded items from minute irrigation components to large fan blades used in air-conditioning and ventilation systems; from A4 brochure holders to specialized jars and containers for food products; and from pots and trays for primary producers to bats and components used in well known recreational products. Not only do they manufacture the plastic components, but Lincoln Plastics also design, develop and produce the associated injection mould tooling (also known as ‘precision dies’). It’s fairly unique to find both these areas of expertise in the one company.
Lincoln Plastics also offer a host of value added services such as component printing and assembly, packaging, and even some warehouse storage for their larger customers’ products.

The team at Schulz Hobbs have enjoyed working with Lincoln Plastics. And in reflecting the business’s progress, Lincoln Plastics’ General Manager, Andrew Dow, kindly said, “Schulz Hobbs have played an important role in finance & accounting support, business advice, and tax advice over the years and have been a valuable ally through the ever changing environment”.

Heyne’s Wholesale Nursery has been acknowledged as our State Finalist in the Best Large Production Nursery category of the Australian Garden Industry Awards for 2005. They also received the Environmental Excellence Award for Production Nurseries in South Australia.
Heyne’s Nurseries comprises two Garden Centres (in Beulah Park and Klemzig) and a Wholesale Nursery (in Burton), which was the recipient of this state Award.
The business has an impressive and unique history. The first Heyne’s Nursery was established by E.B. Heyne in 1869 and is Australia’s 79th oldest business, and its oldest nursery! The Wholesale Nursery is operated by Garry Heyne, and his two sons Carl and Adam who are the fifth generation of Heyne’s to be involved in the business. Since 1869, there has always been “a Heyne” at the helm of Heyne’s Nurseries.
“Our staff was quietly accepting of this recognition from our industry and peers. They are very proud of the nursery, and I guess their humble pleasure results from the nursery being part of their life. Our most important asset is our team of dedicated staff, many of whom are ‘lifers’”, said Garry.
“We have a wealth of experience and expertise, which we are willing to share with our many customers. We provide a delivery service, with our own trucks and a fleet of golf buggies with trailers to assist customers when compiling their orders. For those who require on-site consultancy we take our sample van, which carries around one hundred samples and has an onboard computer with pictures of larger plants”, Garry added.
Presented jointly by Nursery & Garden Industry Australia and the Garden Centres Association of Australia, the Awards celebrate exceptional performance across the entire garden industry.
Congratulations on your notable achievements and national recognition!
